Dustin Baker

President

As the owner of Silverback Excavation, Dustin is deeply involved with every construction project we take on, assuring it meets your expectations as well as his own – his name being associated with a quality project means his integrity is on the line at each turn. Having worked on everything from small commercial projects to large-scale facilities like a cadmium extraction plant in Ohio or a titanium oxide mining operation in Paraguay, he isn’t afraid of complexities and thrives in high-stakes environments. Hands-on at all times, he’s able to help our team tackle any problem they come across. Dustin is a proud husband and father who has made his home here in our beautiful Rocky Mountains. Outside of mentoring his employees and growing his business, he enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams and volunteering in his local communities with a focus on giving back to the youth.

Tim Jackson

Tim is one of our expert Project Managers as well as owner of Silverback Excavation. Tim graduated from Iowa State University with a Major in Wildlife Biology and a Minor in Environmental Studies in 1995. He started Jackson Custom Builders soon after and proceeded that with an exterior trim and framing company. In 2016 Tim continued his entrepreneurship skills and started C4 excavating. Tim’s extensive knowledge of construction and excavation makes him a perfect fit for any project.

Nate Wilkinson

Project Estimator

Nate is our excavation Project Estimator. What truly distinguishes Nathan is his ability to seamlessly transition between the field and the office. His unique blend of practical experience and strategic insight positions him as a valuable asset in the excavation realm.  Nathans career took a break after 9/11 when he joined the 101st Airborne division and served two tours in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.  His spare time is consumed with his musical profession as a composer and songwriter for Oswald Entertainment, working directly for the Artist Big & Rich.

John Zammit

Civil Superintendent

John has been in the construction industry for 25 years. After receiving his associate degree in business administration, he worked at his uncle’s concrete and excavation company in Michigan. Beginning as a laborer, John quickly honed his skills which led to a promotion to foreman. In 2006, John moved to Aspen, Colorado, where he started his own concrete and excavation company. In 2013, he made a final move to Denver and took on a foreman role at a local excavation company. There, John continued to expand his knowledge and lead him to Silverback Excavation as our Civil Superintendent.

Leo Contreras

Utilities Superintendent

Leo was born in Durango, Mexico, and moved to the U.S. in 1996 with a strong desire to work. He started as a laborer with Kana Pipeline in California and quickly advanced to a heavy machinery operator, a position he held for 10 years. After moving to Arizona, he led an underground utilities team with Rhino Contracting for five years before relocating to Colorado for new job opportunities. In 2023, he joined Silverback Excavation, reconnecting with Tim Jackson, who had previously recognized his skills throughout the years.
